The Pretendertain Story

Pretendertain™ was built on the belief that what you wear shapes how you show up.

Much like Walt Disney’s imaginative portmanteaus edutainment or imagineering, Pretendertain™ blends creativity, intention, and storytelling. It’s about using clothing thoughtfully; to feel confident, aligned with, and ready for the moments that matter.

Meet Your Personal Stylist, Erik

I’m a professionally trained personal fashion stylist with years of experience helping people tell their story through clothing.

After studying Costume Design at the world-renowned Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, I learned how deeply clothing affects not just appearance, but perception as well. Since then, I’ve worked alongside top designers and stylists, dressing clients for red carpets, major ad campaigns, travel, events, and everyday life.

What I’ve seen consistently is this: capable, successful people get overwhelmed by decision fatigue when it comes to getting dressed. Not because they lack taste, but because their wardrobe systems haven’t kept pace with their lives.

Pretendertain™ was created to solve that.

My approach blends creativity with practicality, helping clients understand how to find their style and trust it. From one-time styling support to ongoing styling subscriptions, I create personalized outfit plans that make getting dressed easier, more efficient, and more intentional.

While I’m become known for vacation outfit styling, my work is grounded in broader wardrobe strategy. The goal is always the same: outfits that feel appropriate, polished, and comfortable — without second-guessing.

If you’ve ever searched for a “personal stylist near me” or wondered how to find your clothing style for this phase of life, I’m here to guide you thoughtfully, realistically, and without pressure so you can show up and tell your story on your own terms.
